To be fair, a Mac's screen goes blank for a reason. It's better for the environment than having it on all the time and it's also more secure than leaving all your documents open for the world to see. The 'digital rain' frequently seen on computer screens in the popular 1999 science fiction film The Matrix represents the composition of the virtual reality environment called the 'Matrix'. The downward-flowing green characters were ideally suited for a screensaver, so it didn't take long before the first ones were published, and they remain.
